Celebrating Make Your Own Holiday Day With Fido

March 15, 2022

Did you know that March 26th is Make Up Your Own Holiday Day? It’s probably safe to say that you didn’t. However, we suspect that our canine pals would be more than happy to participate in this curious holiday. In fact, Fido probably has some ideas about things he thinks should be celebrated. A Coral Springs, FL vet lists a few of them below.

Belly Rub Day

When Fido offers you his furry belly to rub, you should take it as a high compliment. That tummy is your cute pet’s most vulnerable spot, so this is a huge sign of trust and love between you. Of course, your canine buddy may also want to celebrate Ear Scritches Day, Chin Rub Day, and the all-inclusive Pet Your Dog Day.

Give Your Dog Steak Day

This one probably isn’t a surprise. It’s fine for Fido to have a bit of steak now and then, as long as it’s free of bones and fat. Runners up would probably include Give Your Dog Bacon Day, Give Your Dog Sausage Day, and Give Your Dog A Bacon Cheeseburger Day.

Hang Out With Your Pet Day

If it were up to Fido, every day would be Hang Out With Your Pet Day. We’re inclined to agree! It’s important to spend quality time with your furry friend every day. This will be good for both of you!

Dog Toy Appreciation Day

To be fair, Fido may choose to make this one an entire month. Make sure that your furry buddy has plenty of fun toys to play with. Be sure to change his playthings out regularly, so he doesn’t get bored.

Adopt A Dog Day

There actually are several adoption-related pet holidays on the calendar already, but there’s no harm in adding more. There are far too many pups in shelters, who only want someone to adopt them, love them, and take care of them. We’re all onboard with that one!

No Fence Day

Sorry, buddy: we have to pass on this one. Our canine companions may love running and playing outdoors, but they can easily get lost or hurt without boundaries. If your furry pal is an escape artist, consider getting him a GPS-enabled collar.
