Could an unknown illness or injury be plaguing your pet?

When humans get sick or hurt, they go to the doctor, explain their symptoms, and receive the appropriate care. With animals, it’s not always this straightforward. Because our pets can’t speak, they can’t always alert us when something is bothering them.

What’s more, many animals are able to mask the signs of illness, allowing it to develop and worsen undetected.

Veterinary diagnostics enable us to identify and treat health problems in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of illness and injury can dramatically improve the chances of a positive outcome.

Laboratory

Heron Lakes Animal Hospital’s on-site diagnostic laboratory makes it fast and efficient to run a broad spectrum of tests. In many cases, we can have results in just minutes. This means we can have a treatment plan in place before you and your loved one even leave the exam room.

Imaging

When a physical exam and lab work aren’t enough to reach a diagnosis, we utilize advanced imaging technology, including x-rays and ultrasound. These innovative tools allow us to examine the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity.

Digital images can be evaluated in real-time by our doctors or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.

If your pet has been acting a bit under the weather lately, don’t take chances. Give the experienced team at Heron Lakes Animal Hospital a call right away. We’ll get to the bottom of the problem and get your best friend back on the path to good health again.

Emergencies

Cancer is among the most common medical conditions that can affect companion animals – particularly those that are over the age of 10. And while certain breeds may be more genetically predisposed to developing cancer, it’s a disease that can affect just about any pet at any time. The team at Heron Lakes Animal Hospital is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of cancers.

With a CT scan, our veterinarian can diagnose and treat your pet’s health issue faster and more effectively. CT scans reveal much more than a regular X-ray. They are also quick, painless, non-invasive, and extremely accurate. At Heron Lakes Animal Hospital, we offer the option of mobile CT scans as part of our comprehensive diagnostic services.
