Resolutions for Puppies

January 1, 2021

Happy New Year! Are you starting 2021 out with a new puppy? If so, we are definitely looking forward to meeting the little guy! That first year is a crucial time in your pet’s life. Read on as your local Coral Springs, FL vet lists some of the things that little Fido may want to accomplish this year.

Grow

This is a big one! Fido will grow very quickly over the next several months. That growth spurt will put a lot of strain on his body. Make sure he is eating a good, nourishing puppy food.

Make Friends

Socialization is absolutely crucial for young dogs. In order to grow up into a Good Boy, your pet needs to form a positive opinion about the world. This has to happen while he is still young. While socialization can be tricky in the midst of a pandemic, there are still things you can do. Dress up in costumes, and explore outdoors when you can.

Explore

Our canine pals love to get outside and visit new places. Take little Fido to some parks this year, and let him investigate some new trails. There are few better ways to enjoy a nice day than by getting outside with your furry bff!

Work On My Begging Game

Dogs have been our friends and companions for thousands of years. In that time, Fido has gotten really good at figuring out how to pull our heartstrings, and get us to share our cheeseburgers. Don’t let your pup manipulate you into overfeeding him!

Learn New Things

This is a very important year as far as Fido’s petucation goes. Take time to teach the little guy proper doggy obedience commands, such as Sit, Stay, Heel, Come , and Lay Down . Once your furry pal has those mastered, you can move on to showing him cute tricks.

Charm The Socks Off My Doctor

Have you ever wondered if veterinarians become desensitized to the sheer cuteness of kittens and puppies? Nope! We love seeing adorable little balls of fur grow into happy, healthy adults. Little Fido will need to come in a few times this year. In addition to his initial exams, he’ll need to be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Ask your vet for more information.
